OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office booked a man for attempted robbery, obstructing and resisting arrest Tuesday morning and that same man became a suspect in a string of Omaha mail thefts.
Deputies say Anthony Davis, 39, tried to take a nearby vehicle after he wrecked his in a ditch. The vehicle was occupied and after an unsuccessful attempt to steal the other vehicle, Davis fled on foot before being tazed and taken into custody.
Deputies then discovered Davis' white sedan was full of mail from Douglas County residents and his vehicle matched the description of one linked to mail thefts over the last two months. Investigators will determine whether additional charges will be recommended based on the extent of the victims.
