OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Police say a 70-year-old man died after a single-vehicle crash on Monday.
Officers responded to the crash at 3:59 p.m., just west of 168th & W. Dodge Rd.
The 2020 Kia Sportage was traveling westbound on W. Dodge Rd when witnesses say the vehicle veered off the road to the north and struck an overhead sign support.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, 70-year-old Steven D. Conley, was pulled out of the vehicle by passersby as it caught on fire.
According to police, Conley was given CPR at the scene but was pronounced dead by OFD medics.
Neither excessive speed or alcohol use appear to be factors of the crash, authorities say.
The crash is under investigation.
