A man is dead after he had to be pulled from the water at Carter Lake Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses called 911 just after 2 p.m. after a woman and her boyfriend, believed to be 18 years jumped off the rocks and into the water.
When the man started to sink, his girlfriend went to get help.
People at the beach tried to find him but couldn't.
Police say the man was underwater for 20 minutes before first responders located him.
Officers took off their gun belts and jumped in the water to find him
Paramedics performed CPR at the beach, and all the way to Chi Creighton where the man was later pronounced dead.
