Man shot during domestic disturbance

A man was shot during a domestic disturbance that escalated into an altercation involving more people, according to Omaha Police.

Just after 7 p.m. Wednesday, OPD officers responded to a domestic distubance at a residence near 28th and Manderson streets, according to a press release issued Wednesday evening.

Officers said the disturbance widened to included with multiple people, and that during the altercation, a man was struck by gunfire. He was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center for his injuries.

Anthony Evans, 45, was booked into Douglas County Corrections on three counts of terroristic threats as well as charges of domestic violence felony assault/strangulation and domestic violence terroristic threats, the release states.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
