Mayor Jean Stothert's 2019 budget proposal call for funding a new library, a major makeover to another and a move to a high-tech checkout system.
Under the new spending plan, money is allocated to shift all city libraries to a radio frequency ID system.
The mayor's capitol improvement plan also calls for a $15 million new library in Southwest Omaha and a $20 million replacement for the current downtown library.
A public meeting will be held on the proposed budget on July 31.
