Millard Days kicks off today

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A yearly tradition in Millard starts today with a six-day celebration.

Millard Days starts today, and will run through Sunday, August 25th. The 56-year event will fill Andersen Park this week. The festival is intended to celebrate the Millard area heritage and raise funds for community service projects.

Activities this year include the DC Lynch Carnival, a parade, a horseshoe tournament, a family activity tent, and an entertainment tent with live music performances Wednesday-Saturday.

Tuesday, August 20
- Carnival, 5-10 p.m.

Wednesday, August 21
- Carnival, 5-10 p.m.
- Beer Garden, 6-11 p.m.
- Free shuttle, 6-11 p.m.
- Music: Wheelin and Dealin, 7-10 p.m.

Thursday, August 22
- Carnival, 5-10 p.m.
- Beer Garden, 6-11 p.m.
- Free Shuttle, 6-11 p.m.
- The Grease Band, 7-10 p.m.

Friday, August 23
- Carnival,5-11 p.m.
- Beer Garden, 6 p.m.-midnight.
- Free Shuttle, 6 p.m.-midnight.
- Music: Lemon Fresh Day, 7-11 p.m.

Saturday, August 24
- Parade, 11 a.m.
- Carnival,11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m.
- Beer Garden, noon-midnight.
- Music: Redwoods, 1-3 p.m.
- Free Shuttle, 6p.m.-midnight.
- Music: Hi-Fi Hangover, 7-11 p.m.

Sunday, August 25
- Horseshoe tournament, 10 a.m. (registration at 9:00 a.m. at The Sociable Inn)
- Free Shuttle, 12-6 p.m.
- Carnival, 1-6 p.m.
- Family activity tent, 12-3 p.m. (face painting and balloon animals at noon, kiddie pedal tractor pull at 1:30, with registration at 1:00.)
- Free Ice Cream Social, 3:00 p.m.
