A Millard middle school student is in trouble for a video posted on social media.

The student at Kiewit Middle School posted a video of themselves holding a BB gun and saying "don't come to school."  Several people contacted the principal and the district called police.

Police arrested the student and searched the home.  They determined there was no threat to safety. The District says it takes all of these incidents very seriously.

The school sent the following letter home to parents.

Dear Kiewit Families,

I want to make sure you heard from me tonight. One of our students has made a very disappointing decision. The student posted an inappropriate video on social media holding an BB gun while laughing and saying 'don't come to school.'

We take this situation very seriously. Police were involved immediately. They searched and cleared the home and arrested the student. They have determined there was no threat to safety.

Please take a moment to discuss appropriate comments and active reporting with your young adults. Communication is vital to keeping our community safe. I want to thank the people who spotted this social media post and reached out to us.

Sincerely,
Marshall Smith
Principal
