Wednesday night at Millard North High School, the First Responders Foundation will host a training for people who find themselves in an active shooter situation.

Local city leaders say it is important we face this issue head on. Officer Devin Crinklaw from the Omaha Police Department will walk attendees through a response, he'll also share some signs to look out for before an active shooter threat could take place.

"Whether someone makes a threat or we see a change in moods. We see social media posts that are leaning towards the violent side. People need to pay attention to that," he said. "Make sure you know positions of escape if something happens - whatever environment that they're in."

The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
