OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The U.S. Coast Guard closed all recreational and commercial boat traffic on the Missouri River between Sioux City, Iowa and St. Louis, Mo. The closure is due to high water.
The agency points out vessel traffic may damage or cause overtopping of flood control levees.
The coast guard and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers remind boaters that the river has not yet been fully surveyed for navigational hazards.
The closure will remain in effect until water levels return to safe conditions.
