He's accused of murdering Linda Clark, 57, who friends say reached out to help him. The defendant makes a stunning admission in court on Wednesday.
Douglas County Judge Jeffrey Marcuzzo denies bond to 31-year-old Isacc John. He’s charged with 1st degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Family says Clark let John into her home and helped him out because he was down on his luck.
Prosecutors say witnesses heard the two arguing the night Clark was allegedly killed at her home near 39th & Fort St. They then heard a loud thud, and silence.
The morning of December 12th, police find Clark dead from being repeatedly stabbed. The motive is still unclear.
"You know I don't know the why answer but there was some evidence that there was some loud yelling,” said Brenda Beadle, Chief Deputy Douglas Co. Attorney
"(Inaudible) I did it so just put me down for guilty,” John said in front of the judge in court.
The defense stopped him before he could go on.
If convicted, he faces life in prison plus 1-50 years.
John declined a request for an interview with KMTV Action 3 News.
