LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — 28 Nebraska senators have signed a letter addressed to Big Ten Sports Commissioner Kevin Warren, urging him and other conference members to allow college sports this fall.
Nebraska Sen. Julie Slama made the announcement, including the letter, on Twitter Wednesday afternoon:
28 of Nebraska's 49 state senators have signed onto my letter to Commissioner Warren, urging the Big Ten Conference to transparently reconsider its decision to cancel fall sports.

In the letter, Slama makes reference to other conferences that have allowed sports to happen and have "proven over recent weeks that football and other fall sports can be conducted safely." Slama believes athletes who are not allowed to play are at a disadvantage when compared to those in other conferences.
