Conifer Health Solutions, which partners with Omaha-based CHI Health, is cutting nearly 50 positions from Omaha and Lincoln, Conifer spokesperson Sharon Lakes confirmed to 3 News Now on Friday.

CHI Health and Conifer began a partnershipin 2012. The partnership was extended by 10 years in 2015. Conifer provides revenue cycle services to 76 CHI hospitals.

Lakes provided the following statement on Conifer's "recent decision to expand the footprint of its global workforce:"

“The high-quality healthcare services that Conifer provides to hospital and health systems are sustainable because of the continuous innovations that we pursue to deliver greater value to clients. It is a combination of tech-forward tools and automated processes, and a skilled, global workforce that allow us to provide 24/7 support to our clients. While jobs are impacted as a result of our strategic focus, we look to redeploy affected team members wherever possible. Our focus now is on helping those that desire to do so find new roles within Conifer, or to assist them with severance and other support to make a smooth transition to other employment opportunities.”

Lakes would not provide additional details. It's unclear how many positions were outsourced nationwide.
