LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — The Nebraska Unicameral is looking at a bill which would give scammers a harder time in Nebraska.
The scammers who use local numbers, hoping to trick people into answering their calls could soon be banned.
The bill was proposed by Senator Steve Halloran of Hastings. The bill bans the use of bogus caller I-D with the intent to defraud.
Officials in the industry say while spoofing is a problem, it should be addressed at the federal level.
