A Midtown neighborhood is looking to see new development along a section of Center street. The section from 34th to 36th hasn’t seen any development for 25 years, and dozens of people met on Thursday to discuss the future of the area.
“The more success there is with that, the better we will be as well,” said Noah’s Bark owner Travis Bartles. He said he is hopeful about new development and thinks it is necessary.
The meeting was hosted by Omaha by Design and had a packed house.
“I would like to see some shops and restaurants,” said Robert Schneider who just moved to the area. “We only live a block away so it would be nice with the family and walk a block and have a good place to eat.”
The meeting was a kicking-off point for new development and people could put input into what they do and don’t want.
“Updating the older building and trying to preserve it to preserve our history, that is what I really want to see,” said Bartles.
There will be another meeting this Saturday at 9:30 am, for more information click here.
