OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A new bill being proposed in the unicameral could allow teachers to restrain students who are violent or disruptive in class.
The bill allows for "necessary physical contact" to be used in controlling a student who is behaving violently towards themselves or others.
Opponents say the force could be unfairly applied to minority students or those who are disabled.
