The Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) has created a new tool to help fight the rising opioid epidemic.
According to a release from the NHA, a recent report found that people are now more likely to die from an opioid overdose than a car crash.
In response, the NHA has created what they call an Opioid Toolkit to help health professionals determine when to prescribe or administer opioids based on a number of factors.
Toolkits have been delivered to Nebraska hospitals, clinics and area health education centers across the state.
