The city of Norfolk lifted its snow emergency status only today after 14.6 inches of snow fell on the northeastern Nebraska town on Monday.

Also Monday, the city's Public Safety Department was asking residents to help the city uncover fire hydrants buried in snowpiles.
At more than 24,00 residents, Norfolk was one of the larger communities in eastern Nebraska hit by more than 10 inches of snow Monday.

North Bend was the only other town in the region, receiving 11.8 inches of snow on Monday.
