NPPD is asking Plattsmouth residents and business to conserve power to avoid overtaxing the local power grid already strained by downed lines from Friday's storm.

Just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nebraska Public Power District warned of low voltage levels in Plattsmouth. In order to avoid outages, NPPD is asking Plattsmouth residents and businesses to reduce and conserve power between 5 and 9 p.m. tonight and again Wednesday, starting at 9 a.m.

Mark C. Becker of NPPD said power officials had noticed low voltage levels on the electric system in Plattsmouth, citing the number of power lines feeding from Omaha Public Power District that were damaged during Friday’s storms.
