Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo installed a replica Olmec Colossal Head from its sister city Xalapa, Mexico, on Thursday.

The statue is a symbol of immense gratitude, appreciation and affection the city of Xalapa has for Omaha, according to its former mayor Americo Zunigo Martinez.

“We feel very honored to be chosen as the location for “The King” Olmec Head replica to be on display for our city,” said Dennis Pate, president and CEO of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium said in a release. “We are happy to give the community an opportunity to see this gift from Xalapa and learn more about Omaha Sister Cities while visiting the Zoo.”

The statue, which is 20,000 pounds, will be in the Lied Jungle.
