Matt Deaver, an Omaha area attorney, announced he would seek election for the Nebraska Legislature in District 10 Tuesday.
Bob Krist, who currently represents District 10, is unable to run because of term limits.
Deaver has served as a legislative aide for Adrian Smith, a state senator turned congressman and he has worked in the Office of the Nebraska State Treasurer.
"I really want to go and work to help grow the economy so that we can provide meaningful tax relief for Nebraska's hard working families and businesses," Deaver said in a release. "We must make Nebraska more competitive on taxes, education and regulations to attract new businesses and jobs to our state."
