OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — There's been an overwhelming response to the coronoavirus locally in what many would call an abundance of caution.
Local pharmacists say they haven't been able to keep protective masks on their shelves.
"The mask is used to protect themselves from the coronavirus,” said Andrew Schleisman, a pharmacist at Kohll’s. “The coronavirus is spread via respiratory droplets so it's protecting those droplets from getting access to your nasal cavity or your mouth."
Schleisman says there are many other infectious diseases besides the coronavirus that people can contract while traveling.
He recommends those traveling outside of the U.S. visit the pharmacy to learn about other preventative measures since the masks are out of stock.
