OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Megan Hunt, 31, announced she will run for State Senate in the eighth district in the 2018 election cycle. She made the announcement today on her Facebook page and later in an interview with Cosmopolitan.
The eighth district is compromised of the Dundee and Benson neighborhoods.
Hunt, a Democrat, is the co-owner of Hello Holiday, a boutique in the area.
Hunt said she mixes her business with activism and is pro-choice, a supporter of gun control and Planned Parenthood and pro-choice.
Since 2011, the seat has been held by Burke Harr, a 45-year-old Democrat.
