OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — There was a celebration Friday night at the Omaha Children's Museum for its latest exhibit.
America to Zanzibar is an exhibit all about Muslim cultures. You can explore mosques in 3D, visit the fish market and explore ancient trade routes on an Indian ocean boat.
Some folks said on Friday that an exhibit like that speaks to the hospitality of the Omaha community and makes kids who are Muslim feel validated.
"Its this virtuous cycle where he kind of recommits to this is a community that has welcomed me and given me a space to be who I am,” said Nuzhat Mahmood, an American Muslim Institute board member.
America to Zanzibar runs through April 19 at the Omaha Children's Museum.
