Omaha City Council wants to amend an ordinance in order to hold animal owners accountable for attacks.

The city has seen a number of animal attacks, such as one that Omaha Police responded to in June.

On Tuesday, the council will hear its third reading of the proposed amendment, which aims to broaden the definition of "potentially dangerous animal" to allow authorities to apply the designation to any animal inflicts injury on or menaces a person, whether on private or public property.
