The Omaha Fire Chief has axed plans for the 2018 edition of the Omaha Firefighter calendar.

Last year's hot seller featured shirtless local firefighters holding puppies that were available for adoption, but Chief Dan Olsen says the calendar is not in line with department's mission statement. The statement outlines the department's commitment to integrity, professionalism and compassion.

Last year, the calendars sold for $10 at local grocery stores.
