Omaha Mayor Discusses Dropping Some Business Fees

The Stothert Administration is doing away with some fees that it says are outdated and not enforced.

They cover items such as vending machines, juke boxes and video games at movie theaters and rental halls.

The revenue from those levies amounted to a little more than $58,000 last year.

The council approved their elimination for 2017.

The mayor noted, there is no way to tell how many businesses sell merchandise from vending machines and this will not impact the budget.
