Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, in the lower level of Oakview Mall, Omaha mom and fitness instructor Katherine Barnett runs baby boot camp classes. They do things like jog with strollers, lift resistance bands, and sing nursery songs.

"Classes focus on cardio and strength interval training and then we end with some mat work every time," Barnett says.

Instead of the wheels on the bus going going round and round, or the windows on the bus going up and down, the moms lift resistance bands. The camp is part of a national franchise started by a fitness trainer in 2001. The idea: get that wellness time in as well as that quality time with your child. That's what Barnett, a former camp attendee, says drew her.

"I want to be the best example for my son that I can be," she said.

Barnett says she hopes to create a community, arranging get-togethers and play dates and a mom's night out a few times a month. For those times mommies who also need just a little me time. You can find class details here
