A West Omaha woman and her children are living in fear after somebody graffitied on their front door.
Thursday morning Amy Raymond saw a message of racial slurs and profanity.
“I was just kind of frightened, I was scared, I didn't even know how to react,” said Raymond, who is a mother of a newborn and a toddler.
She said the message was personal, “My kids are half Mexican, half white."
The apartment complex did cover the door with a new coat of paint, but the hurtful words left Raymond terrified to be in her home.
“I've never had this happen to me before, I was really scared and my son was really scared. Their dad came to get us to leave for a couple days and feel safe with my kids.”
She said the apartment complex security saw the message on her door around 10pm Wednesday night and she went to bed around 8pm, giving someone a two hour window.
“I have faith the police will figure out who did it,” said Raymond.
Although Raymond said she is scared she will forgive whoever wrote on her door, but this act of vandalism has her wanting to relocate completely.
“People can be so mean in this world, I don't understand.”
Police are looking for whoever is behind the vandalism.
