OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha is one of the 50 cities most affected by bed bugs, according to pest control company Orkin.
The company recently released a list of the top 50 bed bug cities. Omaha placed 35th, a jump of two spots from 2018.
The list is based on data from the metro areas where Orkin performed the most bed bug treatments from December 1, 2018 – November 30, 2019.
The ranking includes both residential and commercial treatments.
Two cities in Iowa - Davenport (37) Cedar Rapids (41) - also cracked the top 50. Washington D.C. topped the list.
To help prevent bed bugs, Orkin recommends inspecting your home for the creatures on a regular basis, decreasing clutter and examining all secondhand furniture before bringing it into your home.
