The Omaha Parks and Recreation Department is paying tribute to a Public Works employee killed on the job.

Tomorrow, it will plant two trees at the Southwest Street Maintenance Facility in celebration of Arbor Day and in honor of Sal Fidone.

A driver hit and killed Fidone in January while he filled potholes near 144th and U Streets.

The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.

Mayor Jean Stothert will be at the ceremony.
