Omaha Police Chief Tod Schmaderer is in line for a pay increase.
The city personnel board approved boosting his salary by $33,000 over the next three years. Mayor Stothert believes the hike is necessary to keep Schamderer from leaving Omaha for a bigger city.
Under the mayor's plan, Schmaderer would top out at $217,000 in 2021. The deal must be approved by the city council.
