Omaha police looking for St. Barnabas church thieves

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha police are looking for those responsible for a burglary at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Omaha.

Surveillance video shared on the church's Facebook page showed a man and woman walking around inside the church collecting items.

The theft occurred around 10:00 p.m. on July 4. According to police report, a highly valued brass processional cross, brass handbells and glass cup were stolen.

The church says the processions cross was a gift given to the parish in 1877.

The church asked followers on Facebook to help identify the two individuals appearing in the surveillance videos.

So far, police made no arrests.
