Omaha Police have identified the two people involved in the fatal crash on I-80 near 50th St. Thursday morning.
Omaha Police say a semi went off the highway near 50th Street around 6 a.m. and crashed into a nearby ravine, killing the driver.
OPD has identified the driver killed as 66-year-old Danny M. Ryan of Hayfield, MN.
The female passenger was identified as 61-year-old, Debra S. Ryan, his wife.
Officials say Mrs. Ryan suffered two broken legs.
OFD and Arrow towing had to use a significant amount of equipment and personnel to extricate the victims and removal of the semi is still on-going at the time of this report.
OPD officials say the Eastbound interstate traffic was restricted to two lanes for about 2 hours while the female victim was being rescued.
All lanes were open after 9:00 am.
