A new group of recruits begins training to become Omaha Police officers Monday.
In total, there are 53 new recruits, 25 of which will begin the 22-week police training and the other 28 will begin 11 weeks of lateral training.
OPD training officer Catherine Milone said she is excited by the size of the class.
