OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — This week, fans will begin pouring into the Metro for the College World Series. As they do, the Omaha Police Department (OPD) wants to remind people of the rules and location restrictions that apply to electric scooters in the area.

OPD says citations may be issued for the following:

  • Riding on the sidewalk
  • Failing to stop at a stop sign
  • Riding on roads with a speed limit over 35 miles an hour
  • You must be at least 18 years old to operate a scooter

Geo-fences are in effect for areas pictured n the map from OPD's post. If you cross them, the scooters should slow down and you will not be able to end your ride...running up your scooter bill.

OPD says you do not need a driver's license or insurance to ride the scooters.
