The first open house on Omaha's trash collection was under way.
The meeting at Nathan Hale Middle School was to present information about potential changes to its waste-hauling contract.
Officials say they want to modernize the trash collection that not only gives users the best bang for their buck but also is environmentally friendly.
"What we like to know from the public is what makes sense, the level of service provided, is environmentally doing the right thing,” said James Kee, Environmental Quality Control Manager.
Don't worry if you missed tonight's meeting; other meetings are planned:
- July 27 at Elkhorn Ridge Middle School
- Aug. 2 at Columbus Park Community Center
- Aug. 3 at Westside Community Center
