OPPD sending workers to Jacksonville

After announcing Tuesday morning it would be sending 47 workers to Tampa, OPPD will send an additional 15 workers to Jacksonville, according to its website. 

The twelve lineworkers, two mechanics and a supervisor will work with Jacksonville Electric. As of Tuesday afternoon, Jacksonville Electric had more than 150,000 customers without power. 

In total, there will be 62 OPPD workers assisting in Florida. 

Lincoln Electric System also has crews in Florida; they have been assisting in Tallahassee.

Nebraska National Guard members arrived in Jacksonville today. 

Nebraska Task-Force 1 members are still staged at Eglin Air Force Base, east of Pensacola, awaiting specific orders from FEMA. Their urban-rescue equipment has already been put to use.
