For Nebraska's largest school district the countdown for back to school is on. Omaha Public Schools starts next Wednesday, but on Thursday OPS and its bus contractor are holding a dry-run to make sure their transportation plans are set for the year.
The district and Student Transportation of America say they are working to avoid a repeat of the busing crisis during the 2016-2017 school year when students were left on the bus and not getting picked up.
OPS is again partnering with North End Teleservices to better handle busing questions and issues from parents.
