Board members cited her experience and the connections she made during her short visit to Omaha as reasons for choosing her over the other finalist, Harrison Peters from the Hillsborough County School District in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Logan is the first African-American and the first woman to lead OPS. She will take over for the retiring Mark Evans in July.
