OPS Students Compete in Poetry Slam

Posted

Omaha middle school students voiced poetry in front of a crowd in Benson earlier Wednesday.

Twelve metro middle schools selected two student poets to participate in the poetry slam.

Each student wrote their own poetry and performed it at the Pizza Shoppe on Maple Street.

The event was sponsored by the OPS Gifted and Talented Office.

Felicia Webster was one of the guest poets judging the poetry slam.

The winners received a medal for their work.
