PACIFIC JUNCTION, IOWA (KMTV) — It was no ordinary Easter in Pacific Junction, Iowa.
Just days after residents were let back in to pick up whatever is left, some used Easter Sunday as a chance to clean up.
"Just throwing stuff out, putting it in garbage bags," says Kerres.
Resident Lynette Kerres owns three properties in town, but today she was picking up her mom's place.
Both have lived in town for decades, but are now moving on.
"I'm scared to stay here. I'm really scared to stay here,” says Kerres.
Most things inside the house are unusable, were swept away, or destroyed, including family photos.
"My husband died at 50 and my son was 13 and he has no pictures of his dad,” says Kerres.
Kerres says she plans to spend many of her Sundays coming up doing what she's doing on Easter Sunday, cleaning up the mess.
" I think we'll be here all summer, trying to get it cleaned up,” says Kerres.
