The Papillion City Council approved construction for a new community center Wednesday.

The project will cost $48 million and the building will go up at 96th and Lincoln.

The city already owns the land and is working to improve the streets in the area. In 2016, voters approved raising the city sales tax by half a percent to pay for it.

There will be a groundbreaking later this month.
