An outdated pedestrian bridge designed to keep schoolchildren in Papillion safe will be coming down soon.
Monday, the city will close a lane of southbound traffic on Washington Street, from Lincoln to Sherman, as preliminary construction work begins on the bridge.
Demolition is expected in mid-October, with a new bridge opening in January, weather permitting.
