Officials said that all Papio-Missouri River and Elkhorn River access parks will reopen on  Thursday.

The parks have been closed for weeks due to high water in the river causing potentially hazardous boating conditions.

“The river levels have finally dropped and the boat ramps have been cleaned of river siltation and debris,” said John Winkler, NRD General Manager.

The reopened Elkhorn River access sites include Elkhorn Crossing near 252nd St and Bennington Rd., Graske Crossing off West Dodge Rd and the West Maple Rd. sit

The NRD’s Platte River Landing park and river access near highway 64 continues in use.
