Parents in two eastern Nebraska counties are on alert after reports of someone trying to lure children into cars.
Investigators are looking into the two different recent reports. One was taken in Ithaca and the other in Plattsmouth.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office asked residents to be on alert for a tan or brown Chevrolet Suburban.
“The party is described as a white male, mid to late 30s, with a beard. The party was attempting to lure children by asking them to identify a dog in his vehicle,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote.
The Plattsmouth Police Department posted a similar alert on Tuesday.
“CAUTION: February 15, 2016, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a white male driving a white car with a black strip with possible minor front end damage attempted to lure children into the vehicle with candy.
