Officials with Eppley Field say a plane made an emergency ending at the airport Monday afternoon.
Eppley Operations official Dennis Messina tells KMTV that an MD80 flight American Airlines 1286 made that landing.
Messina said that a pilot departed and got a notice from a high-heat sensor in the rear of the airplane.
The pilot then opted to return to Eppley at around 3:57 p.m. after changing the flight destination at 3:54pm.
The plane originally departed from Eppley at 3:43 p.m.
Messina added the pilot declared an emergency at 3:49 p.m. for the Alert 2 landing.
An Alert 2 involves large aircraft with more than 9 people on-board needing support staff beyond what the airport operations response crew can supply.
Officials say that the flight was heading to Dallas.
Messina said mechanics are looking at the plane after Eppley crews found no smoke.
No medical attention was needed.
