An Omaha doctor under fire for performing cosmetic surgery, patients say, he wasn't qualified to do.  The cases are mounting; more than a dozen lawsuits have been filed.  Now a Southern California plastic surgeon wants to help the women feel beautiful again.

Court documents say in the last two years Dr. Gerard Stanley performed liposuctions, breast augmentations, butt and eye lifts even though he's only board certified to practice family medicine.  Fourteen women have filed lawsuits claiming they were left scarred and in pain with thousands of dollars in cosmetic repairs or unable to be fixed at all.

Dr. Stanley owned Sculpt Cosmetic Surgery, which has since closed its doors.

Dr. Rady Rahban, a Board Certified Beverly Hills plastic surgeon says he wants to offer revisions to the women at a discounted rated depending on the extend of the repairs needed.  He says it's frustrating to see unqualified doctors botching surgeries when many times they can be beneficial procedures, and he’s doing more revision procedures than ever.

"It saddens me to see people other than plastic surgeons are giving our profession a bad name,” Dr. Rahban explained.  "Reinstate the confidence in their eyes and their emotions that plastic surgery is a good thing."

Dr.  Rahban wants others to know people who have plastic or cosmetic surgery are no different than your own mothers, sisters, and daughters who are trying to better themselves in ways diet or exercise just can't fix.  And that these women were taken advantage of.

"When you cut corners there are consequences but in this particular instance these people didn't cut any corners they went to a guy who was in their neighborhood who for all intense and purposes looked legitimate,” Dr. Rahban described. “And they were lied to so in this instance they were victims."

All of the malpractice lawsuits are still going through the Douglas County District Court system.

Dr. Rahban says if you're considering cosmetic or plastic surgery ask the right questions and check their credentials to make sure a surgeon is qualified.
