Power outage closes some Council Bluffs business

UPDATE:

5 p.m. - MidAmerican Energy says about 35 customers are without power

4:43 p.m. - MidAmerican Energy says about 2,000 customers are still without power in the Council Bluffs area. They expected power to be restored around 6 p.m.

MidAmerican Energy says a problem at a substation is to blame for a power outage affecting about 6,500 customers.

The power company says power should be restored by about 4 p.m.

The city says the Council Bluffs Public Library has closed early because of the outage.  The Council Bluffs Area chamber of commerce says the chamber and surrounding businesses are also impacted.

 

 

There is a power outage at the Chamber and surrounding businesses. The Internet and phone lines are currently not working. We are assured the power will be back on shortly. Thank you for your patience.

A power outage at the Council Bluffs Public Library is causing it to close early.Hopefully it will be open first thing in the morning.
