OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A principal, who was accused of not reporting sexual abuse by a teacher in a timely manner, has resigned.

On Monday, the Omaha Public School Board voted to end pay and benefits for 49-year-old Fontenelle Elementary Principal Eric Nelson. Nelson had been placed on administrative leave back in December for allegedly failing to report inappropriate contact between a teacher and students.

The teacher, Gregory Sedlacek, was charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child.
