On Monday night, demonstrators in Iowa have begun marching in protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

The 100-mile trek will take about eight days. The Native American Coalition of the Quad Cities opposes the pipeline, saying it could rupture and poison groundwater.

A report from the Army Corps of Engineers, however, contends that it poses no significant environmental risk.

It goes through four states including Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Illinois.
